Roger Lee Helberg passed away peacefully on Saturday, Aug. 24, 2024, at Henry County Hospital in Napoleon, Ohio.Roger was born on May 20, 1938, to the late Eldor and Ruth (Hogrefe) Helberg. On July 10, 1959, he married Mary Alice (Wade) Helberg, who preceded him in death on April 2, 2024.Roger was a lifelong member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Napoleon Township. He was a member and served on the board of the Farm Bureau for many years. He was a member of the German Lutheran Heritage Society and a volunteer for The Red Cross Disaster team, where he would help to set up shelters for those affected by the hurricanes.In his younger years he was involved in the Maumee Valley Civic Theatre and loved doing plays. Roger learned to call square dances as a teenager and enjoyed singing as well as playing the harmonica.
